Sugar Beet Harvester Data Collection System
A local sugar beet research facility required weight data from field harvested product in real time. This system used an Android platform tablet with custom software written by BTO Controls. We also built the custom enclosure to house the weiging equipment electronics and bluetooth broadcasting communication hardware. The enclosure housing the electronics was mounted on the harvester in a safe place out of the way. The 3 scale units broadcast their weight data via bluetooth to the Android tablet that was mounted on the harvester near where the workers could interface with it. This data collected then was stored to an Excel Spreadsheet in real time. This system eliminated the hand written process that proceeded it and increased productivity and accuracy.
